Naseeruddin-Dimple to star in Welcome Back, not Big B-Rekha
While plans to have Amitabh Bachchan-Rekha in Welcome Back didn't materialise, a new jodi has now been finalised. Naseer will now step into don RDX's shoes and Dimple will play the femme fatale.
A few weeks ago, reports claimed that veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha had been approached to star in Welcome Back.

However, now we have learnt that Naseeruddin Shah and Dimple Kapadia will essay those parts in the Anees Bazmee movie that follows the 2007 film, Welcome.
Bachchan and Rekha, who were last seen together in Yash Chopra’s Silsila (1981), were offered pivotal roles in the film.
While the former was approached to play the part of don RDX (the role was played by the late Feroz Khan in Welcome), the latter was to essay the role of a wealthy fashionista who finds herself in the centre of a love triangle.
However,
revealed that Rekha backed out of the film citing date issues as she was busy shooting for Indra Kumar’s Super Nani.
Bachchan, meanwhile, denied ever having been approached for the
in the first place. He said, in a report, "I am not doing the film. I don’t know... nobody has approached me for this."
While Naseeruddin will now play the part of the flamboyant don, Dimple will be the love interest of Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar’s characters (the actors will reprise their roles from Welcome), informs a source.
This will be the second film to star Naseer and Dimple together, Homi Adajania last directed them in his debut film, Being Cyrus (2005).
When contacted, producer Firoz Nadiadwala refused to divulge any details, saying, "I can’t comment right now."
