His last screen appearance was alongside Priyanka Chopra in his debut film, 7 Khoon Maaf (2011). Since then, Naseeruddin Shah's younger son, Vivaan, has been away from the big screen.
And even as he looks set to bag filmmaker Farah Khan's Happy New Year (the announcement is due in a few days), we have learnt that the 23-year-old actor is confirmed to appear in director Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet (BV), which stars actors Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
"Vivaan will play Anushka's driver and have a powerful presence throughout the film. Since he fits the role perfectly, he was called for auditions a while back. And he impressed everyone, including Anurag, with his confident screen test. Anurag finalised him immediately after going through the (audition) tape," says an insider.
"Vivaan won't be a part of the first schedule. Since most of his scenes are with Anushka, he'll join the crew in a month's time," adds the insider.
Of late, a number of star kids - Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor, among others - have been in the news for their fitness routines. Joining this league is another star kid - Aamir Khan's son Junaid (right) - who has been on a training programme for nearly seven months now.
It's not clear whether Junaid is being prepared for a grand launch, but he is surely sweating it out with trainers Samir Jaura and Jai Shekhawat. Samir trained actor Farhan Akhtar for his role in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and has been working with the actor for 11 years now.
"It was Aamir who asked Farhan for Samir's number. Junaid called him expressing his desire to train under him. He was fit already, so the trainers have put him on a general fitness and toning regimen. His physique is leaner now," says an industry insider.
