Pulkit Samrat impresses Zoya Akhtar

He is just one-film old, with a second one, Fukrey, on the verge of hitting theatres. But newbie actor Pulkit Samrat is already making waves. Now, we have come to know that he has managed to impress Zoya Akhtar (her brother Farhan has co-produced Fukrey) with his performance in Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s next.

Zoya apparently went for a special screening of Fukrey and she was very impressed with Pulkit’s performance. It’s believed that she has also expressed a desire to cast him in her yet-untitled upcoming film that’s supposed to star Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.

“When Zoya saw the film, she found Pulkit a natural actor. So she told Ritesh (Sidhwani) and Reema (Kagti) that she would love to have him on board for her next. And if there’s no part for him in her immediate next venture, she might team up with him in another of her forthcoming projects,” says an insider close to Zoya. Pulkit, apparently, is on cloud nine after getting such a response from Zoya. “She happens to be one of his favourite directors. So he is eagerly waiting for the day when he’ll get a call from Zoya,” adds the insider.

While Pulkit couldn’t be reached for a comment, Zoya says, “I’m just back from London. And yes, Fukrey does look promising.”
