The Rockstar disappointed Delhi on Wednesday. Actor Ranbir Kapoor, 29, turned up over three hours behind schedule for a public event in Gurgaon to promote his film Rockstar, leaving fans and media furious.

“We are not fools to be waiting for three hours with no clue as to when the stars will arrive,” said a journalist before storming out of the venue, where the film’s team was to judge a contest organised by PVR Cinemas. The event was to begin at 4pm, but started only at 7.30pm.

“I took half the day off from office so that I could catch a glimpse of Ranbir, but had to leave when he did not arrive till 6:30,” said Simran Kaur, another fan who walked out.

When Kapoor finally arrived with co-star Nargis Fakhri and the film’s director Imtiaz Ali, the team apologised to the remaining crowd before congratulating the contest winners and putting up a performance of songs from the film.

“I’m sorry for keeping you guys waiting for so long; we have been on the road for four hours and and we thank all those who were patient enough to wait,” said Ali.

Last month, the crew disappointed Lucknow fans when they reportedly cut short a 45-minute event to a five-minute act. The film hits theatres today.
