Rani Mukerji, Mardaani 2 team members pose for candid photos

Rani Mukerji is currently shooting for the upcoming film Mardaani 2, a sequel to her successful 2014 film, Mardaani. While the first look of the film was revealed in April-end, some candid pictures of the actor have now emerged online.

In the fresh pictures from the sets of Mardaani 2, Rani can be seen posing with other members of the team. Wearing a blue and white check shirt, with her hair let loose and minimal makeup, Rani is a picture of freshness.

In Mardaani series, she plays a cop; in the 2014 film, she played a cop in hot pursuit of child traffickers and was appreciated for her performance. The first look of Mardaani 2 showed her in a cop’s uniform, looking stern and fierce.

Mardaani 2 is being directed by Gopi Puthran (who has written the script as well) and is expected to hit the screens later this year. Speaking about the film’s shoot in summer, he had earlier said: “It’s an intense one month long schedule in Rajasthan which forms the backdrop to the story of Mardaani 2. Rani’s investigation will take her to Jaipur and Kota. Given that we are shooting in peak summer of Rajasthan, it will be physically demanding because Rani will be doing action sequences too.”

Some time back, another still from the shoot was online, which showed Rani wearing a white shirt and a pair of jeans. She plays a cop called Shivani Shivaji Roy. Reportedly, speaking about her character, Rani had said: “Shivani will face a cold, merciless villain who has no empathy, no fear of God and is pure evil. The character has been written superbly and I’m excited to find out who the actor will be.”
