Actor Sanjay Dutt has pulled out of the third instalment in the Dhamaal film franchise . A source close to the actor has revealed that he has said no to the upcoming instalment, titled Total Dhamaal, because he doesn’t want his kids to see him in adult comedies. The actor starred in the first two films in the franchise —Dhamaal (2007) and Double Dhamaal (2011).

“He wasn’t keen on the film’s content revolving around adult comedy. Dutt is leaving no stone unturned to make up for all the lost time with his three children, Shahraan, Iqra and Trishala. He doesn’t want them to see him in an adult comedy film,” says the source.

Another reason why Dutt pulled out of the project is unavailability of dates. Dutt, who recently wrapped up shooting for his comeback film, Bhoomi, will soon start working on the third instalment of Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster.

“The reason for moving out is essentially due to the actor’s dates coinciding with other projects. The actor has his calendar blocked until the shoot of the third instalment in the Saheb Biwi Aur Gansgeter film series, followed by Torbaaz,” the source adds.

Directed by Indra and produced by Ashok Thakeria, the first instalment in the franchise also starred Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaafrey and Ashish Chowdhry.

Following Sanjay Dutt’s exit from the franchise, reports suggest that Riteish Deshmukh, too, might withdraw from the film.
