Sanjay sir, you should be cherished eternally: Aditi Rao Hydari on playing Mehrunissa in Padmaavat
Aditi Rao Hydari has little screen space in Padmaavat as Alauddin Khilji’s first wife but she does have some remarkable scenes and dialogues to her credit.
Bollywood actor Aditi Rao Hydari, who plays the role of the first wife of Alauddin Khilji (played by Ranveer Singh), has expressed gratitude towards director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the entire team of the film.

Sharing a picture from the sets of the film, Aditi wrote on Instagram, “Thank you for making me your #Mehrunisa Sanjay sir... thank you @sudeepdop dada for your magic, you’ve spoilt me! @rimple_harpreet_narula you’ve created a look that will be remembered forever... @preetisheel so much of the love for mehru is because of you... thaaaaank you godmother @shobhasant you’re a Rockstar and super special @soodpranav You’ve been the rock that one needs through shoot, while my head and ears and nose hurt especially 😂!!! @sarasmenon I missed you but thank you for the time you were on set and looked after me... tushar, jahanavi, abhi, Abhinandan... the whole ultra hard work king team... love you peeps! Based on 13th century poem by Malik Mohammad Jayasi, Padmavat, the film features Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji.
