Shabana Azmi wishes Sridevi could watch daughter Janhvi Kapoor become a star with Dhadak

Actor Shabana Azmi shared a few sweet words for her late friend, Sridevi. She wishes Sridevi could watch her daughter become a star.

Janhvi Kapoor may have lost her mother before she could make her big Bollywood debut but the industry has come together like family in her support. Veteran actor Shabana Azmi has shared a Instagram post dedicated to Janhvi’s mother, actor Sridevi, after watching her debut movie, Dhadak.

“#Sridevi wish you were here to watch your daughter #Janvhi’s debut. You would have been so proud .. A star is born,” she wrote as caption for a happy throwback photo featuring Shabana, Sridevi, producer Boney Kapoor, music director AR Rahman and fashion designer Manish Malhotra.

Shabana’s fans also loved her sweet gesture. “Very sweet n thoughtful message shows your a true friend. Friends forever stands true for you Shabana ji,” a fan wrote. “This girl will carry the legacy forward !! She’s brilliant!,” commented another.

A few days ago, actor Rekha also gave Janhvi and her co-star from the film Ishaan Khatter, her blessing at the film’s special screening. She embraced the young actors in a big, long hug and the sweet moment was captured on camera.

Actors Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and more also tweeted their reaction to Dhadak. “#Dhadak is so beautiful yet an intense film! I totally loved it @karanjohar @ShashankKhaitan #Ishaan & #Janhvi I’m sure you will win over everyone with your wonderful performances. Sending out my best wishes to the entire team for the big release tomorrow!,” tweeted Madhuri.

Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan and released to mixed reviews this Friday. It opened to Rs 8.71 crore on Day 1.
