Shah Rukh injured during film shoot

The actor suffered minor injury while shooting for Farah Khan's Happy New Year at Mumbai's JW Marriott on Thursday. Doctors at Nanavati Hospital said that his bruise has been taken care of and he's completely fine now.

Actor Shah Rukh Khan suffered minor injuries while shooting for filmmaker Farah Khan's next, Happy New Year at a suburban five-star, JW Marriott on Thursday. He was rushed to Nanavati Hospital.

HT is informed that a door fell on him. However, SRK is stable now and is likely to resume shooting soon as well.

Dr Ashok Hatolkar, medical superintendent at Nanavati Hospital, says, "He (SRK) has sustained a minor bruise, which the doctors have taken care of. He is completely fine."

An official statement from SRK's office reads: "Shah Rukh Khan had a minor accident on the sets while shooting. He has a minor injury and has got the necessary medical aid. He is absolutely fine now. Thank you for all your wishes!"

When contacted, actor Sonu Sood, who is a part of the film, and was present when the accident happened, says, "There was a problem with the hotel's door hinge. It fell on his head while he was passing through. He had suffered an injury on his head, but is doing fine now."

Other Bollywood stars who got injured on film sets

Vivek Oberoi: During the shoot of Yuva (2004), Vivek Oberoi fractured his leg while performing a stunt. He had another accident while attempting a stunt for Kismet Paisa Love Dilli in 2012 and hurt his back while shooting for Zilla Ghaziabad in the past.

Ranveer Singh: While shooting for Gunday in Kolkata, Ranveer got a nasty gash on his cheek. Again, on the sets of the same film, a piece of glass hurt Ranveer’s foot. He also managed to hurt his fingers while shooting for a sequence in Ram Leela. Later, while shooting for Lootera in Dalhousie, the actor suffered a back injury.

Amitabh Bachchan: During Coolie (1983), while shooting in the University Campus in Bengaluru, Bachchan suffered a near-fatal intestinal injury during the filming of a fight scene with co-actor Puneet Issar.

Sonu Sood: The actor suffered from multiple fractures on his right leg and ligament tears while participating in the Celebrity Cricket League in 2013.

Akshay Kumar: While shooting for the tentatively titled Pistol, Akshay Kumar had to perform an action sequence that involved running down a flight of stairs. The actor started the scene on the sixth floor, but he fell while on the second floor and twisted his ankle.
