The controversial song Bharat Mata Ki Jai from Dibakar Bannerjee’s next film, Shanghai, has irked a group called Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena, whose president Tajinder Pal Singh tweeted: “We are giving open warning to Shanghai Directer to remove Bharat Mata Ki Jai song from the movie. Otherwise movie will be banned... We strongly condemn the lines Bharat Mata ki jai Sone ki Chidiya, Dengu, Maleria gud hai, Gobar hai Bharat Mata Ki jai (sic).”

However, the first trailer of Dibakar Banerjee's Shanghai is getting some rave reviews on Twitter. The film starring Abhay Deol and Emraan Hashmi, got thumbs up from the likes of Farhan Akhtar and Bipasha Basu.

The film is a political thriller reportedly based on the life of politicians and their greed.

While Abhay Deol plays the role of Krishnan an IAS officer posted in Maharashtra, Emraan Hashmi plays the role of Jogi, a small-town wheeler-dealer who shoots marriage videos and porn movies. Kalki Koechlin plays Shalini, an earnest and innocent student-political activist who wants to change the world.

The film is slated to release on June 8, 2012.
