Shraddha Kapoor has always found female characters in Hindi cinema inspiring. Not just as an actor, but also as an audience, they have managed to leave an impact on the Baaghi (2016) actor. Certain set of characters played by actors are personally memorable for her, such as “Waheeda Rehman’s character in Pyaasa (1957), Padmini Kolhapure’s in Prem Rog (1982), Sridevi in ChaalBaaz (1989), Madhuri Dixit in Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994).

And, some of the portrayals in relatively recent times like Priyanka Chopra’s character in Aitraaz (2004), Kareena Kapoor Khan in Jab We Met (2007), and Kangana Ranaut in Queen (2014)”.

These performances have struck a chord with her. Talking about these nuanced acts, the Ek Villain (2014) actor says, “These characters created a long-lasting impact on me. Even after all these years they have stayed with me. It is because of the way their characters were written, as well as the strong performances delivered by all of them (actors in respective films).”

With love from Prague ❤
