Smriti Irani to play Abhishek Bachchan’s mom in her Bollywood debut

The actor will play the role of Abhishek Bachchan’s mother in Mere Apne.

Rishi Kapoor will play her husband in the film that also stars Asin. Producer Bhushan Kumar confirms the news and says, “When we narrated the script to Smriti, she agreed immediately. It’s not just another mother’s role. She has a performance-oriented part in it.”
