The film, which also stars actor Sonakshi Sinha, is a remake of Telugu film Okkadu (2003), and is produced by Arjun’s father, filmmaker Boney Kapoor.

For the first time, he has teamed up with his producer-father Boney Kapoor for their next home production.

"Working with him has also calmed me down. Also, I am happy because I see my father on the sets every day. There is no pressure on him to launch me now. He is not making this film to support me. He is making a film with an actor who suits the role," said Arjun in an interview with Hindustan Times.
