Being glamorous seems to come naturally to Malaika Arora Khan. The woman who has everyone asking, ‘How does she do it?’ will now be seen as a judge on India’s Got Talent (IGT). We wonder if she’s been brought in purely to up the glam factor on a show where the other two judges are Karan Johar and Kirron Kher. Malaika says, “That goes with the territory, but there’s more to me than just glamour. Yes, I will be up there in my big hair, pouty lips and sexy dresses. But I will be judging, giving my opinion and talking too.”

There’s even more on her plate. “I would love to produce a show on TV. I have ideas about a cooking and travel-based show and a dance show too.” She also has plans to open a restaurant: “I’m looking for the right location, as all our plans for a restaurant are in place.”

On IGT, she says she has enjoyed all the attention that has come her way during the auditions: “I have done it all on stage, from dancing to playing drums to trying my hand at archery, and even riding a unicycle. All my talents have been discovered on the show. Except for singing. Some contestants asked me to, but I can’t sing,” she says.

On previous shows where she has been a judge (Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Nach Baliye), she has been objective in her comments towards celebrities. But Malaika feels this time she will have to walk a tightrope. “With celebrities, I never sugar-coated my words, but we had to be careful about their images. Here it’s all about emotions and aspirations. You can’t crush them with your words. You will see an emotional side to me on the show. You have to respect the talent on stage which could range from exceptional to average to downright bad.”
