Brace yourself for some thriller adventure as a bevy of detective films starring A-listers in Bollywood is on its way.

Ranbir Kapoor
The Kapoor scion will play a detective in filmmaker Anurag Basu’s next titled 'Jagga Jasoos'. Talking about the project (which is also Ranbir’s production), the actor was quoted as saying; “It’s an entertaining children detective film on the lines of Indiana Jones meets Tintin. I am excited about it.” The 31-year-old will play a 17-year-old school boy in the film. Reportedly, the shoot will start later this month and is expected to be over by February.

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was recently seen in 'Shuddh Desi Romance', will bring one of Bengali literature’s most famous detectives to the big screen. Talking about the film called Detective Byomkesh Bakshi which is directed by filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee’s Sushant said, “Its a huge responsibility, Dibakar is extremely clear in terms of what he expects of me as an actor and we are very excited about the project.”

Shah Rukh Khan
If reports are to believed, actor Shah Rukh Khan has been approached for Mira Nair’s Bengal Detective and if things go well, he might soon be seen playing a ‘desi’ bong detective. The news gained momentum when Nair recently attended a party to celebrate 'Chennai Express’ success and Shah Rukh was spotted having a long and intense chat with the filmmaker.

Arshad Warsi
Actor Arshad Warsi will play a detective in an upcoming film titled, 'Calling Mr Joe B Carvalho', helmed by Samir Tewari. Talking about the same, the 45-year-old said, “My character gets the worst cases. Unlike his father, who was an excellent detective, Joe is terrible at his job.” Arshad is paired opposite Soha Ali Khan, who essays the role of police officer in the movie.

The actor will be donning the hat of a detective in her upcoming film 'Bobby Jasoos'. “I’m thrilled to be lady James Bond. The film will mark the arrival of India’s first lady detective and I am quite happy to be part of it. The idea of a lady detective is exciting.” the 35-year-old said. The shooting of the film, which is helmed debutant Samar Shaikh, is likely to start from mid-November this year and the movie will release next year.

Actor Rajeev Khandelwal will essay the role of a serious crime busting investigator in filmmaker Kaushik Ghatak’s next 'Samrat & Co'. Filmmaker Ghatak said, “My film is a serious detective thriller where Rajeev plays a serious private investigator out to solve a crime. This is not at all a ‘desi’ version of Holmes but our own unique detective hero.”
