Treatment is on, don’t know when Dilip saab will be discharged: Saira Banu

Actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to a hospital on Tuesday after suffering from swelling in his leg but he calls it a “routine checkup” on his Twitter page.

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to a city hospital on Tuesday after suffering from swelling in his leg. But since the 93-year-old’s wife, Saira Banu “wanted to get it investigated properly”; she took him to the Lilavati hospital in Bandra.

When HT contacted Banu, she said that the veteran actor “is recovering.” “The medication and treatment is going on currently. Besides that, he doesn’t have cold and fever (as has been reported in some section of the media). Since the treatment is on, we don’t know when Dilip saab will be discharged. It all depends on his recovery,” she added.

Banu said she hoped that the actor will be discharged before his birthday on Sunday (December 11). “Mein chahti hoon aisa ho jaye taaki hum sab milkar unka birthday manaye Sunday ko (I want this to happen so that we all can celebrate his birthday on Sunday). Please pray for him,” she said.

Kumar also tweeted on Wednesday morning that he was “feeling much better now.” “Was admitted to Lilavati hospital for routine checkup. Your prayers are with me. Health is wealth said somebody. Mein aap sabhi ka mashkoor hoon ki aapne hamesha apni dua’on mein mujhe yaad rakha (sic),” he tweeted.
