Chetan Bhagat recently found himself in tough spot when his kids quizzed him about Arjun Kapoor-Alia Bhatt's kissing scene in 2 States. Kapoor plays a character inspired by Bhagat in the adaptation of the best-selling author's semi-autobiographical novel while Bhatt's role is a take on Bhagat's wife.

The novel 2 States is the story of a couple from Delhi and Tamil Nadu, who have a hard time convincing their parents about their marriage. The book is inspired by Bhagat's real life love story.

Baffled by his kids' queries about the intimate scenes in the movie 2 States, Bhagat posted on Twitter: "Dad, why are you kissing mom so much in the 2 states movie ads?" #wheretohide #whattosay"."

"Hahaha !! Wow ;)," an apparently amused Alia wrote.

"Sab tumhari galti hai!" replied Bhagat, to which Alia added, "haha we are following the book sir ;)"

2 States kiss to help in good opening?

In a recent interview, ­filmmaker Karan Johar made a statement that has sparked off a debate in the industry. The filmmaker, whose next film 2 States' trailer has multiple kissing scenes between the lead pair — Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor, said that "including such scenes in the promos helps to get a good opening".

Many films that hit theatres recently have had actors lock lips in the promo, along with those of upcoming movies. Even as these rushes are a hit online, the industry stands divided on whether these scenes actually ensure a good opening.
