The moment the news of late Prakash Mehra's Zanjeer remake became public, the showbiz industry was rather excited about it.

However, the excitement seems to have dampened as the film's producer Amit Mehra (son of Prakash) has failed to pay his two brothers who terminated the remake contract.

What happened was that Amit, who bought the film's remake rights from his elder brother Sumeet and younger brother Puneet, defaulted on the payments.

This resulted in the two brothers terminating the stated contract.

Since the Arbitrator upheld the contract's termination, Amit approached the Bombay High Court.

As per the HC order, Amit has been given a reprieve to shoot the film. At the same time, however, he can't release the film until further orders are issued from the HC.

While Amit said that he is making the payments and releasing the film, Puneet said that since the matter is subjudice, the former couldn't declare the same.

Meanwhile, news is also abuzz that Sumeet and Puneet are interested in upholding the Arbitration Order of the project's termination.

The remake is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia and stars Priyanka Chopra and southern actor Ram Charan Teja in the lead. Actor Atul Kulkarni will also be seen in the film.

This will be the third time Priyanka will be starring in an Amitabh Bachchan remake.
