The eternal Archie-Betty-Veronica love triangle that has spanned nearly seven decades is not yet over. It is believed that the grapevine about Archie proposing to Veronica was a gimmick.

Here is an interesting news for all those who have been endlessly speculating about the age-old Archie-Betty-Veronica affair. An international daily has revealed

that the highly talked about Archie's proposal to Veronica in issue number 600 was not the final call. In an issue slated for release in November, readers will witness an interesting twist in the love triangle as the tables turn.

The six-part story began with Archie No. 600 in August, with the protagonist walking down memory lane and then pursuing the direction that eventually led to marrying Veronica, raising their twins and working for her father.

However, the end of Archie No. 602 finds Archie back in high school and returning to memory lane, where this time he pursues the opposite path - leading, of course, to a life with Betty Cooper as his wife.

Michael E. Uslan, the film and TV producer, comic-book historian and Archie fan who penned the headline-grabbing series, cited Robert Frost's poem Road Not Taken, the Joni Mitchell song Both Sides and the movie Sliding Doors as his inspiration.

Archie comic has been steadily losing reader base. Undeniably, these kinds of gimmicks can salvage sales, but only temporarily. In the long run these devices can only annoy the true-blue followers!
