Diana married Charles for his title, says book

The book on the late Princess by New Yorker editor Tina Brown also says that Diana lied about throwing herself down the stairs when she was pregnant.

The New Yorker editor, Tina Brown's book about the late Diana, Princess Of Wales, claims she married Prince Charles for his title and lied about throwing herself down the stairs when she was pregnant.

The book titled The Diana Chronicles will be released June 12 in the US and Britain and it coincides with the 10th anniversary of the princess' death in a Paris car crash in August 1997, reports contactmusic.com.

Among other claims, Brown, who was a close friend to Diana, alleges that she and Charles had sex on the royal train before they married and that Charles only cheated on the princess after her eating disorders and hysteria became too much to endure.

Other friends of the Princess have denied the claims in the book.
