From graphics to GIFs: Famous book covers get a digital, magical twist

Javier Jensen, a Chilean artist, has come up with subtle GIFs of iconic book covers, making them as magical as their stories.

The experience of reading has evolved dramatically over the years, with digitisation completely revolutionising it. Now we have kindle, the internet and several other gadgets, all wanting us to do away with the classic act of sitting quietly with a book and leafing through, living its characters one page at a time.

Seven book covers including that of The Great Gatsby, Le Petit Prince, The Hobbit, and The Adventures and Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, have been made into interesting GIFs. (titanbooks.com)

Jensen has chosen to bring to life seven book covers including that of The Great Gatsby, Le Petit Prince, The Hobbit, and The Adventures and Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes. Be it the smoke rising from Mr. Holmes’ pipe or the melancholic eyes blinking at you from Gatsby’s cover, the thoughtful additions give the covers a brooding, pensive quality and make you want to see more.
