Jaipur Lit Fest to bring alive Bhakti and Sufi music

This year the much awaited DSC Jaipur Literature Festival will not only play host to over 250 Global and Indian authors but also bring together over 100 performing artists from across the world.

This year the much awaited DSC Jaipur Literature Festival will not only play host to over 250 Global and Indian authors but also bring together over 100 performing artists from across the world.

This year the festival will have a new morning program theme called ‘Bhakti and Sufi’ which will showcase the fusion of musical diversity in India focusing on devotional music.

The organisers have revealed that the festival will showcase myriad music performances from across the world. Jaipur Kawa Brass Band, Rajasthani Musicians Chugge Khan, Nathoo Lal Solanki, Fire Eaters & Dancers will be the inaugural performance of the Festival. Gods Robots (The Gods Robots sound is a groundbreaking blend of electronic and organic music pairing the Indian classically trained Taamara with seasoned producer/DJ Janaka Selekta) Coke Studio– India, Poetry by Jeet Thayil & Tishani Doshi, Dub Colossus, Ustaad Eltaf Mohammed Saharang, Parvathy Baul, Duncan Bridgeman from 1 Giant Leap with Praveen, Jeet Thayil & Rajasthani Musicians will enthrall the audiences.

Commenting on the musical stage the festival organizers said, “It gives us immense pleasure to present diversely cultural music this year at the festival. We believe that this festival will be a great platform to merge cultural identities from across the country, its neighbours and the world at large.”
