Although he insists that in the last few years he has started to become a recluse, ace designer Rohit Bal has always been a people person. Ask him his secret of being such a favourite with both genders, and pat comes the reply, “Perhaps because I don’t drain people’s energies!”
In a recent exclusive interview to Brunch he revealed to writer Shefalee Vasudev that he is extremely sensitive to personal auras since the beginning. “I let people be without any kind of pressure. I don’t judge. I could have been a wild child, a brat with all the attention I got, especially after my father passed away when I was 11. I was spoilt and protected as the youngest of seven siblings from two marriages of both my parents. But I turned out to be the exact opposite. I am caring, emotional, sensitive and gentle. Whether that gentility has something to do with a certain sexual orientation, I don’t know,” he said.
