Bajaj Auto August sales down 6 per cent

Sales of motorcycles falls 7 per cent to 167,483 units and sales of all two-wheelers fall 6 per cent to 170,203 units.

Bajaj Auto Ltd , the second-biggest motorcycle maker, said on Saturday that vehicle sales in August fell 6 per cent to 195,707 units from 208,163 units a year earlier.

It said sales of motorcycles fell 7 per cent to 167,483 units from 180,570 and sales of all two-wheelers fell 6 per cent to 170,203 units from 182,013 units a year earlier.

Sales of three-wheelers dropped 2 per cent to 25,504 units from 26,150 units a year earlier.

The company said exports jumped 75 per cent to 56,452 units from 32,283 units a year earlier.
