Coke India chief gets global role

Coca Cola today announced major organisational changes, elevating India and West Asia CEO and president, Atul Singh as deputy president of the company's Pacific Group with effect from July 1.

Coca Cola on Wednesday announced major organisational changes, elevating India and West Asia CEO and president, Atul Singh as deputy president of the company's Pacific Group with effect from July 1.

Singh would be the first Indian to occupy such a senior level position of the Atlanta-based beverages giant.

Venkatesh Kini, currently senior vice-president, operations, India region, will be elevated as deputy president of the business unit, India and South West Asia (INSWA). In his new role, Venkatesh will have oversight for all the business units operations and functional leadership. He will continue to report to Atul Singh.

As part of the upgraded focus on mainland China business, David Brooks, current GC&K business unit president, will assume a new leadership role as chairman, GC&K.

Brooks will manage the GC&K BU's public affairs and communications and sustainability functions, while continuing to oversee the business unit's operations in Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia and Hong Kong and Macau.

There are no changes in the organisation structure at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd, the company-owned bottling operations in India.
