Dow Jones index hits 12,000 points first time since 2008 crisis

For the first time since the 2008 financial crisis the Dow Jones Industrial Average crossed the symbolic threshold of 12,000 points today.

For the first time since the 2008 financial crisis the Dow Jones Industrial Average crossed the symbolic threshold of 12,000 points on Wednesday.

Bolstered by a strong performance from DuPont, Home Depot and Microsoft, the blue-chip index sailed briefly past 12,000 for the first time since June 2008, before the economic crisis bit.
