EIH Q3 profit surges 59%

East India Hotels on Thursday posted 59.4% year-on-year rise in the net profit at Rs 45.3 crore from Rs 28.4 crore in the corresponding quarter recording previous year.

East India Hotels on Thursday posted 59.4% year-on-year rise in the net profit at Rs 45.3 crore from Rs 28.4 crore in the corresponding quarter recording previous year.

The growth was on account of better top line of the company and improved operational margins as against the corresponding period.

The company's total income jumped to Rs 313.8 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 301.1 crore a year ago.

Shares of the company gained Rs 0.9, or 1.01%, to settle at Rs 89.7. The total volume of shares traded was 73,269 at the BSE.

Mutual funds, including their passive investment schemes like index funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), will be required to cast votes compulsorily in respect of related party transactions of the investee companies and corporate governance matters, Sebi said in a circular.
