Vice Chairman, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Chairman, Tech Mahindra, Anand Mahindra tells Hindustan Times what the Satyam bid means for the group.
On Tech Mahindra being declared the highest bidder
This is a historic day for us. After a challenging period in Satyam’s history they are close to the end of the tunnel as it were. I’m very pleased that Mahindra and Mahindra has been a part of this satisfying culmination.
On the first task once the bid is cleared
Once we win the bid our first task would be to rebuild it into the great institution that it has always been and restore its reputation.
On retaining Satyam’s customers
I plan to personally reach out to some of Satyam clients like John Chambers, Cisco and Citibank to name a few. We will give the highest priority to restoring their confidence as their faith is the key to the future of Satyam.
On Satyam’s work culture
I know that nothing’s going to come easy, but I am confident that Satyam comes with many positives because its employees are highly competent. They have always had an outstanding delivery model. Thus I would want them to continue what they are doing within a strong framework of governance and best business practices that Mahindra and Mahindra will bring to the board.
