The bilateral meeting, on the sidelines of US President Barack Obama's visit to Delhi, also covered technical cooperation on capital markets, the development of infrastructure finance and combating the financing of terrorism, the Treasury said.

Geithner also invited Mukherjee to Washington in 2011 for a second round of annual U.S.-India economic partnership talks. The first round was held in Delhi in April.
