Germany's Rittal to invest €20 mn in India

Enclosure systems manufacturer Rittal India Pvt Ltd on Wednesday announced plans to invest euro 20 million in the next six -months to set up its second manufacturing unit in the country.

Rittal India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Germany's Rittal GmbH and Co KG, flagship of Friedhelm Loh Group of Companies.

Friedhelm Loh, owner and chairman of the Friedhelm Loh Group of Companies, said the company was planning to start a second manufacturing plant in India.

Loh inaugurated a new office section spread over 6,800 square feet area at the company's existing manufacturing plant at Doddaballapur near Bangalore. The office has a seating capacity for 75 people.

Loh said in 10 years of its inception, Rittal's sales in India had grown rapidly to a level of about euro 50 million.

Currently, Rittal employs over 600 people in India and has a customer base of 4,000 all over the country. The plant in India also exports to other subsidiaries in Asia and Middle East.

Rittal's focus had always been on innovations and offering new products and solutions to customers that deliver value for money, he said.

Some of the recent projects executed by Rittal India include providing networking and outdoor enclosures for IIT Chennai campus and railway signalling applications to Delhi Metro.
