Patni sets up new consultancy services

Global information technology service provider Patni Computer Systems announced on Thursday the formation of its consulting service practice within its manufacturing business unit.

Sanjiv Bhatia, a former managing director of Bearing Point has been appointed the vice-president of the newly formed consulting service practice.

"The new consulting service practice will offer manufacturers a full spectrum of solutions designed to improve business performance and corporate competitiveness through strategies, process and tools delivered by experienced consultants," a statement from the company said.

Patni's consulting services capabilities will include supply chain, merger integration covering operational and IT due diligence, deal risk assessment, post-merger acquisition and post-transition consultancy.

The consultancy service will also provide technology advisory services, enterprise information management and value engineering.

"The combination of customized, on-site consulting services, the company's deep technology expertise and well developed global delivery model will enable us to deliver unique, affordable leading edge solutions using a collaborative hands-on approach that will result in enhanced business value for clients," said Sanjiv Bhatia.
