Reliance Big acquires 50% stake in UK’s codemaster

Anil Ambani Group company Reliance Big Entertainment Limited (RBEL) on Monday said it will acquire a 50-per cent stake in UK-based gaming firm, Codemasters. The remaining stake in Codemasters is with European venture capital firm Balderton Capital.

Anil Ambani Group company Reliance Big Entertainment Limited (RBEL) on Monday said it will acquire a 50-per cent stake in UK-based gaming firm, Codemasters. The remaining stake in Codemasters is with European venture capital firm Balderton Capital.

RBEL’s gaming division, Zapak Digital Entertainment Ltd will oversee the Codemasters investment.

Zapak is a gaming firm with interests in online casual games and massively multiplayer online games publishing, and is
India’s largest chain of gaming cafes and physical distribution of gaming software.

Codemasters has franchises in cricket games (The Ashes series), racing games (Formula 1, Dirt2 and Race Driver Grid), performance games (Dance Factory) and military simulations (Operation Flashpoint 2). It has annual revenues of over $150 million (Rs 690 crore).
