Leading infrastructure company, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd has posted a 6 per cent increase in its net profit in the first quarter of 2010-11. The net profit of the company for the quarter ending June 30 stood at Rs 375 crore as against Rs 356 crore in the corresponding quarter of the pervious year.

Speaking to the Hindustan Times, the CEO of Reliance Infra, Lalit Jalan said the increase in its net profit was due to the growth in its EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) sales business in the energy (jncluding power and oil and gas), roads, metro rail and transmission sector.
Reliance Infrastructure’s total operating income was up 4 per cent at Rs 3,824 crore for the period ending April-June quarter against Rs 3,671 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous year, an increase of 4 per cent.
Jalan said the company was developing various projects worth Rs 40,000 crore in roads, power generation as also metro rail and transmission sector.
