Sensex down 199 points in early trade

The BSE 30-share index, Sensex, which had lost over 292 points on Tuesday, falls further by 199.07 points to 15,013.06.

The Bombay stock Exchange benchmark Sensex lost 199 points in early trade on Wednesday on all-round selling by funds as well as retail investors, tracking weak global trend.

The 30-share index, which had lost over 292 points on Tuesday, fell further by 199.07 points to 15,013.06.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange's index Nifty dipped by 55.00 points to 4,497.25.

Marketmen said a weak trend in overseas markets and concerns over slowdown in economic growth mainly influenced the trading sentiments in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong's benchmark index was down by 1.2 per cent, tracking falls on Wall Street.
