Sensex ends flat in choppy deals

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex on Wednesday closed flat in a volatile trade, even as the two Reliance groups together with metal and capital goods sectors gained.
The 30-share index gained 12.98 points to 17,243.16 after touching the day's low of 17,041.63 and high of 17,293.34 points. The Sensex has remained weak in the last two sessions.
Wide-based Nifty of the National Stock Exchange rose by 12.70 points to 5,104.95. It touched the day's low of 5,048.70 and high of 5,135.55 points.
Among the companies in the Mukesh Ambani group's fold, Reliance Industries rose by Rs 65.90 to Rs 2,667.90 and Reliance Petro by Rs 7.40 to Rs 192.90.
In the Anil Ambani group, Reliance Capital shot up by Rs 50.05 to Rs 1,411.70, Reliance Natural by Rs 5.45 to Rs 113.60, Reliance Communications by Rs 6.20 to Rs 603.75 and Adlabs by Rs 3.85 to Rs 726.30.
The oil and gas sector gained the most by 263.91 points to 11,432.80 followed by metal index by 213.31 points to 17,390.28. Capital goods index rose by 106.60 points to 13,670.08.
