Amit Garg, business head at Firefly eVentures, a 100 percent subsidiary of HT Media Ltd, which owns Hindustan Times, said in a statement that the portal was able to make headway, aided by its content and tools that help candidates looking for tips and career progression.
“Our crossing a million candidates is an early indicator of the fact that it is being perceived as a differentiated offering by candidates,” Garg said.
“From a recruiter’s perspective as well, Shine’s matching technology makes immense business sense because it allows short-listing of relevant candidates within minutes, as compared to days spent using other means,” he added.
Shine.com is focusing on positioning itself as a serious long-term career portal, and not just for entry-level or “B-grade job hoppers.”
The statement said Shine had a strong focus on quality of candidates, with a majority of the candidates having more than two years’ work experience, besides a sizeable representation from premier educational institutions and different organisational levels to include senior professionals.
