Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition seen at dealer stockyard ahead of launch
The Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition has turned up at a dealer yard ahead of launch, sporting a darker look.

Mahindra has begun teasing a new version of the Thar Roxx on its social media platforms, and the same variant has now been spotted at a dealer stockyard ahead of its official launch.

A video of the new version was recently uploaded by the YouTube channel Auto Experts, revealing that the upcoming variant will be called the Star Edition. While the video does not confirm the exact trim level it will be offered on, the vehicle shown appears to be based on the top-spec AX7L variant.

What’s different on the outside
From what can be seen, the Star Edition is essentially a dark-themed version of the Thar Roxx. On the outside, changes are minimal. The SUV rides on the same 19-inch alloy wheels as the standard model, but the dual-tone black-and-silver finish has been replaced by an all-black treatment. Apart from this, the only visible exterior update is a ‘STAR EDN’ badge on the C-pillar. No other design changes are evident.
The interior gets a darker theme
The more noticeable updates are on the inside. The Star Edition features a blacked-out cabin, giving it a darker overall look compared to the regular Thar Roxx. The feature list appears unchanged. The video shows the SUV equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
That said, the cabin is not completely black. The roof liner and door panels are finished in beige, providing some contrast to the otherwise dark interior theme.

No mechanical changes expected
As this is a mid-life update, there are no mechanical changes. The Thar Roxx Star Edition will continue with the existing engine options. These include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 152 hp and 320 Nm of torque, and a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel engine rated at 132 hp and 300 Nm. Both engines are expected to be offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Currently, prices for the Thar Roxx range from ₹12.39 lakh to ₹22.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The Star Edition is expected to be priced slightly higher than the standard variant it is based on.
