Waiting period of up to 6 months on Toyota's Innova Hycross: Report

According to the report, the maximum number of bookings being received are for the top-spec ZX and ZX(O) variants.

Toyota unveiled its Innova Hycross multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in India on November 25 and, the car has generated good response from customers. Bookings for Innova Hycross have already opened and deliveries will commence in January; this even as the company is yet to reveal the pricing details.

Toyota Innova Hycross is based on a new monocoque platform.

Now, according to a report, the waiting period on the car may go up to six months after the launch (in January).

Maximum bookings for ZX, ZX(O) variants

The car comes in five variants: G, GX, VX, ZX, and ZX(O). Of these, as per the report, the ZX and ZX(O) – both top-spec trims – are receiving the maximum number of bookings. The likely reasons, the report says, is a fuel economy of 21.1 kmpl for these trims, as well as the panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats in the ZX variant.

The G, GX and VX variants are either 7- or 8-seater, while the ZX and ZX(O) are available only as 8-seater. The latter two are powered by a 186hp, 2.0-litre strong powertrain.

Expected price

Toyota is expected to price Innova Hycross in the range of ₹22 lakh to ₹30 lakh. In its segment, the MPV will go up against Mahindra's XUV 700 and the Tata Safari.
