7 booths sealed at Krishna Market

The UT estate office sealed seven more booths at Krishna Market in Sector 41 on Tuesday. The estate of fice had earlier this month sealed five booths. All the booths have been further sold against allotment rules. According to allotment rules, there is embargo on further sale and subletting of booths. On May 6, the estate office had carried out a survey re g arding the ownership of booths in Krishna Market to probe into the alleged irregularities in the allotments.

During the check, nearly 59 occupants of the booths failed to convince the estate officials of them being the original allottees.

The scam came to light in March 2008, when Dinesh Kumar Sood lodged a complaint with the UT administration alle ging irregularities in allotment of booths and a magisterial probe was marked in 2010 on the directions of UT administrator Shivraj Patil.

Then ADC PS Shergill was asked to probe the matter in March 2010 but he submitted his report a year later.
