
70-year-old held for sodomising minor
A 70-year-old retired soldier was arrested for sodomising an eight-year-old school boy, in sector 26 on Monday night.
The accused, identified as Chander Singh, was arrested from his house at Bapu Dham colony for indulging in unnatural sex with a minor.
The incident occurred on Sunday but the boy did not tell anybody as he was threatened by Singh.
Police said that the boy lived on the top floor of the same house where Singh had been living for the last few months with his family.
Police also said that the boy used to visit Singh’s house as the two families knew each other.
In his complaint, the boy claimed that he was sodomised when he went to Singh’s house on Sunday when he was alone and that he was threatened by Singh when he resisted.
The accused has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, among other charges and a probe is on.
