An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 53-year-old neighbour in a village here, police said on Sunday.

An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 53-year-old neighbour in a village here, police said on Sunday.
Jetha Ram allegedly lured the girl to his room last evening when she was playing outside her house in Sabalpur village and raped her there, a police official said.
The girl's maternal aunt, who heard her cries, alerted neighbours who rescued the girl, he said.
The minor was rushed to Adampur hospital where she was referred to Hisar civil hospital, police said.
A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered against the accused, who is absconding, they said.
