Sunita (name changed), a victim of sexual abuse at Apna Ghar, the shelter home that came in the news earlier this year, gave birth to a girl child at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, on September 16.

The woman was one of the many victims of alleged sexual abuse and torture at Apna Ghar. Following the raid by a national women's rights body at Apna Ghar this May, Sunita, who is one of the key witnesses in the case, was shifted to Bhiwani. The woman gave birth to the child late in the night on September 16, a doctor said. The mother and child are said to be in good health.
