Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal on Monday said Parkash Singh Badal and Om Parkash Chautala have always fulfilled their promises whereas the Congress has always eliminated the poor after getting their votes on the promise of poverty eradication.

Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal on Monday said Parkash Singh Badal and Om Parkash Chautala have always fulfilled their promises whereas the Congress has always eliminated the poor after getting their votes on the promise of poverty eradication.

Addressing a rally here in favour of the SAD-INLD alliance candidate from Kalanwali, Balkaur Singh, Sukhbir Badal said people of Haryana were confident that Chautala would fulfil all the promises made in the manifesto of the Indian National Lok Dal as people were still enjoying the schemes and policies initiated by Chaudhary Devi Lal and Om Parkash Chautala governments. “Similarly in Punjab, chief minister Parkash Singh Badal ensures that the government fulfils all promises despite facing constraints,” he added.

Lashing out at the Haryana government for ignoring the overall development of the state, Badal said for chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Haryana started and ended at Rohtak. He said the Congress government had created a development gap between few cities and rest of Haryana.

Badal said the Congress leadership lacked the decision-taking power and its leaders could not even breathe without prior permission from the Gandhi family. “This attitude of the Congress leadership has resulted in lack of decision-making, which has cost dear to the people of Haryana. “Chautala need not to take permission from any boss so he will ensure speedy development of the state,” said Sukhbir.

Launching a frontal attack on the Gandhi family, he said the Congress under the leadership of this family has fooled the people for decades. He said the Congress launched the slogan of ‘Garibi Hatao’ (eradicate poverty) and after gaining votes, the party adopted ‘Garib Hatao’ (eliminate the poor) policies.
Sukhbir added that the Congress worked on the divide and rule policy to rule the nation for more than 65 years but now the real face of the party was fully exposed.

Remembering the struggle of Chaudhary Devi Lal, Badal said he always fought for the cause of people. Devi Lal and Parkash Singh Badal fought many fights together to safeguard the rights of farmers and common people, he added.

The Punjab deputy chief minister said the Congress was hell bent on staying in power and it used its power and agencies like CBI to put Chautala behind bars. He said Chautala always fought for common people and the Congress attempted to put a full stop on this struggle by conspiring against the Chautala family. Badal said now it was matter of 15 days as a strong wave was blowing in favour of the SAD-INLD alliance in Haryana.
