Beopar mandal donates over Rs 5 lakh for Uttarakhand victims

Senior functionaries of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal on Monday handed over cheques worth over Rs 5 lakh to UT deputy commissioner Mohammad Shayin for relief of Uttarakhand victims.The Grain Market Association contributed Rs 2,50,000 while Market Welfare Association of Sector 46, donated Rs 50,000.

Senior functionaries of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal on Monday handed over cheques worth over Rs 5 lakh to UT deputy commissioner Mohammad Shayin for relief of Uttarakhand victims.The Grain Market Association contributed Rs 2,50,000 while Market Welfare Association of Sector 46, donated Rs 50,000.

Progressive Traders Association of Sector 17 and Chandigarh Beopar Mandal Office Bearers donated Rs 30,000 and Rs 1,70,000, respectively.Earlier, the Grain Market Association had also dispatched two jeeps and trucks loaded with relief material.

The delegation of senior functionaries of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal wasled by president Charanjiv Singh and comprised Vinod Joshi, general secretary, and Diwakar Sahoonja, chief patron CBM.Speaking on the occasion Charan Jiv Singh assured the deputy commissioner that Chandigarh Beopar Mandal would always carry on the tradition of coming forward to provide relief for any national calamity.

Deputy commissioner Shayin applauded the noble gesture by the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal and its member associations in coming forward with timely relief for the Utrakhand victims.
