Bus fare up by one paise per km

The Punjab government on Thursday decided to increase the bus fare by one paise per km per passenger, with effect from Friday. In a recent meeting of the Punjab council of ministers, the bus fare was reviewed keeping in view the prevailing price of diesel.

The state government has already decided to review the bus fare every three months in view of the changing diesel rates. The hike is applicable to Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC), Punjab roadways and all private buses plying in the state.
