Cash at judge's door: hearing deferred to Nov 11

In the wake of 'virtual stay' on proceedings, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special judge Vimal Kumar on Monday deferred the hearing of the infamous cash-at-judge's-door case, in which retired high court judge Nirmal Yadav is an accused, to November 11.

The Punjab and Haryana high court on September 13, while admitting the revision petition filed by Yadav challenging the decision of the special CBI court to frame charges against her, had summoned the entire record thus putting a 'virtual stay' on the proceedings.

The CBI special court was to frame charges against Yadav and other accused booked in a corruption case registered by the CBI way back in August 2008.

In August 2008, the CBI had booked Yadav under the Prevention of Corruption Act along with Delhi-based hotelier Ravinder Singh, former additional advocate general of Haryana Sanjiv Bansal, Chandigarh-based businessman Rajiv Gupta, and one Nirmal Singh.
