Cashless health insurance for atta-dal beneficiaries

The Punjab government on Wednesday announced to launch Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojana to provide cashless health insurance cover up to Rs 30,000 to poor beneficiaries holding blue cards under the atta-dal scheme.

The Punjab government on Wednesday announced to launch Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojana to provide cashless health insurance cover up to Rs 30,000 to poor beneficiaries holding blue cards under the atta-dal scheme.

Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal would launch the scheme at a state-level function at Fazilka on November 11.

Health minister Surjit Kumar Jyani said here that this scheme would be launched in all 22 districts of the state, for which beneficiary families could get themselves registered from November 11.

Enrolment centres for registration would operate at village and ward levels and fingerprints and photographs of all five members of the beneficiary family would be required for enrolment.

A smart card would be issued on the spot during enrolment, he added.
