Reacting sharply to the derogatory outburst of Rajinder Kaur Bhattal against him, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate from Anandpur Sahib, Prem Singh Chandumajra, said he would file a defamation suit against her if she failed to tender an immediate, unconditional apology for the totally false, baseless and unjustified statement against him, here on Tuesday.
“Her blatant and unwarranted allegations are a demeaning attempt at character assassination with a clear intent to smear my personality and damage my election campaign,” he added.
Chandumajra, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Anandpur Sahib constituency, warned the Congress leader that his legal advisers would make her answerable before the court, and said a legal notice in this regard would soon be served upon her.
He further added that use of such derogatory language was a blatant violation of the model code of conduct, and his election office would lodge a complaint against her with the ECI.
The former Punjab CM called the SAD candidate, ‘Chandu daku,’ and, ‘Chandu chor,’ while addressing a rally on Monday.
