Addressing the media, the CM said the announcements of the previous regime would be reviewed in public interest. "The decision found to be in public interest would be kept and where discrepancies are found, a decision would be taken as per the law," Khattar said.

Asked if the state government would dispense enhanced old-age pension and implement pay scale on the Punjab pattern to employees, the CM said the reviewing of announcements did not mean rejecting them. "Whichever announcements are found suitable after the review would be implemented, while the rest would be discarded," he said.

The Congress government had announced a series of poll-centric incentives before the Lok Sabha and assembly elections, leaving the state in a financial mess.
