District courts to be connected to Punjab, Haryana

The Chandigarh district courts will now be connected to various courts in Punjab and Haryana through video-conferencing finally after remaining in pipeline for the past two years.

Once connected with various courts, the facility will enable the judicial officers by means of technology get their evidences recorded from their work place and will not have to travel.

The system of putting this in place was initiated two years ago and now if everything goes as per schedule, the facility will become operational when the court re-opens after the vacation, claim sources in the court.

At present, the Chandigarh district courts have the facility of connecting through video-conferencing to the Burail model jail and Tihar jail.
